For Merrell’s "Shambhala" project, I travelled to the remote Coromandel to spend time with Merrell Hike ambassadors Sharon and Andrew from Freewheeling Kiwi. The aim was to capture an authentic glimpse into their latest venture—building an off-grid lifestyle property—while also exploring the wider story of their journey as adventurers. This documentary-style project was created to highlight Merrell’s ongoing partnerships with its ambassadors, telling real, human stories of people who live, work, and explore in the gear they trust. The final film blended candid storytelling with immersive visuals, offering audiences a genuine connection to the Freewheeling Kiwi ethos and the rugged landscapes they call home.
